Marginal Notes
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Tramways Ordinance.
2. Power to break up streets, & c.
3. Further obligations of promoters who have opened or broken up any road.
4. Repair and maintenance of part of road where tramway is laid.
5. Penalty for obstruction of promoters in laying out tramway.
6. Penalty for wilful injury or obstruction to tramways, & c.
7. Penalty on passengers practising frauds on promoters
8. Right to seize and detain any person discovered committing an offence under section 7.
9. Penalty for bringing dangerous goods on the tramway.
10. Penalty for persons using tramways with carriages with flange wheels, & c.
11. Promoters to be responsible for all damages.
12. Promoters to have right of user only.
13. Nothing in the Ordinance to affect power of road authority to widen road.
14. Nothing in the Ordinance to affect power of police to regulate traffic.
15. Nothing in the Ordinance to affect right of public to use road.
16. Specification of offences and penalties to be affixed to carriages.
17. Power of promoters to sell undertaking.
18. What may be done in case promoters discontinue working of tramway, or of insolvency of promoters.[ 241,61 of 1939]
19. Value of undertaking how to be determined.
20. Government or Council may, however, work the tramway pending the three months specified in section 18.
